Simon, Jennifer, Jordenne and Elizabeths Maths Work

This presentation is what we had been working on during maths time with Mrs Tele'a. We had to split into groups of 4 or 5 and work out some questions. Here they are!

Jacob the Great

Here is a presentation about 'Jacob the Great'. It is about a boy who cannot make a decision. In these slide you'll only see some multiple choices questions. Enjoy:)

The Mobile Garden

This presentation was given to us by Miss Clark for my group JK Rowlings. We have been working on it ever since last week and now I have completed it. This story is about a rightful King who had been threatened by a Sultan taking over his Kingdom. But he did not manage to do that. Because by the help of Appaji, the Sultans plan did not go well.

How to prevent from getting sick

The cold weather can be the cause of various illnesses. You can either get a sore throat, a cough, blocked nose and more. Yes sure, many people want to avoid getting ill. But, not everything can prevent you from becoming sick. Mostly in cold, and wet climates, people become very sick due to the low temperature. This explanation will inform you with ways you can prevent yourselves from getting sick this winter.

Washing your hands is one way you can avoid illness from coming your way. It is very important to wash your hands every time you cough and sneeze. Because if you don’t, your germs will spread out making other people sick, and it can also become a virus. Also you’ll need to wash your hands because you sneeze into it and your hand captures all of the germs. But, if you don’t, many people can inhale the germs you have coughed out and become very sick.

Wearing warm clothes can also prevent you from getting very ill. It can prevent you from getting a cold body. If you cannot do that, well, your throat will start getting sore, your nose will be blocked and more illnesses will get to you. That is why wearing warm clothes is an important way of not becoming sick. Not wearing the appropriate clothings for a weather that is freezing cold will definitely not help you to avoid becoming ill. Because if you do, the sicknesses will continuously come to you and you will get you very sick and might get a disease. So, this method of wearing really warm clothes can prevent you from getting very sick.

Keeping clean, like showering is another helpful way of not becoming sick. Why showering? Well because, as you have already known, winter is where most people get ill. That means, people everywhere can cough on you, sneeze on you, and their germs stays on you. So showering is the best way of washing those germs off of your body.

These methods that I have explained to you can, and will help you from preventing yourself from becoming very sick. But remember, there are many other ways avoiding getting ill. But I hope you realise and understand that cold weathers can create causes of many illnesses.

How can we be Financially Responsible?

This presentation is about saving money. Do you think saving money is important? What does it mean to save? Those were the questions that needed to be answered. Come back tomorrow to read the updated version of this presentation.

Moving Out

This presentation was given for us for what we need to move out, also we'll need the cost for it. Angelina and I have been working on this for about a week and a half. We have now updated this presentation and have completed it. Our task was to imagine that we had moved out of our house and bought a new home with a friend. We also had to go shopping online and see what we would've bought if we actually did move out. But, we obviously cannot spend money on anything....we needed to be financially responsible!

Word Problems

This presentation is about the percentage of a number. I finally know a easy way to work out these kind of equations. And I hope by reading this presentation you can learn from it too! Enjoy:)

My First Pay - packet

Here is a presentation of my work from last week. It is about a boy who had received his first pay packet. He had been finding a job in Glen Innes and had been rejected by two jobs. But when he finally found one, on his pay day, he had received his first pay check or pay packet. He gave the money to his mum, she said the family tradition is to share it out to the family. Yes, he did feel sad and he did not like the tradition. But he felt alright at the same time because the next pay check will be all his.

Google for Education Group

Hobsonville Point Primary School was where we went for an event that we attended to for Google for Education Groups New Zealand, also known for GEGNZ. There, the yr 7 & 8 extension displayed two presentations of ‘How to use Google Apps’ and ‘P.E.N.N (Point England News Network)’. Because of the distance between Pt England and Hobsonville Point, we had to be at school before 7:00am and leave at about 7:10am.

Many of the presentations that my group (Google Apps) attended to were interesting. There was Red Beach School, they (Joseph, Liam, Keenan and Kelvin the presenters) showed us a site of what they use at their school called Kahoot. Kahoot is where you create questions and can invite all your friends or classmates to answer them. That was Red Beach Schools presentation.

There was also Anji and Jasmine from Ormiston Primary who showed us how to use google apps, and Henderson Valley who displayed to us many of the sites that they use at their school. Such as Blendspace and Stormboard. Blendspace is a creative way of doing your work. You can add videos, images, and well obviously texts. It is similar to Google Drive but I think that Blendspace is more creative. Stormboard is where you can create an online brainstorm.

My highlight of the day was when we presented. It was really fun and I enjoyed it. Unfortunately only one school attended our session, but they seemed to enjoyed it with us. Lucy and I were the last one to present, because we had a movie showing them ‘How to use Green Screen on iMovie’. The first, second and the third presenters just showed them how to use some of the Google Apps. There was Jordan and Taimana showing them ‘How to create a Google Presentation’, Mary and Collin with Blogger and Google Docs, Eric and Ariana with Google Draw, Iisa and Zane with ‘How to use Hyperstudio and Google Sheets’ and lastly Lucy and I.

Having the opportunity to present at GEGNZ in Hobsinville Point was really fun! I enjoyed many of the presentations and I certainly and mostly loved presenting. Attending this event really was amazing. Seeing and creating things that I thought only professionals can create was even more amazing. Now I know a lot of sites where you can create MANY THINGS!!

My 20 and 200 Tala Animation

Our topic for this term is 'Trade and Enterprise'. So obviously this topic will have something to do with money. Team 5 (yr 7 and 8 block) has been learning about how to be 'Financially Responsible!'. The teachers of the year 7 and 7 block had given us a task of making an animation, of what we will do if we had received 20 tala or 200 tala. What would you do if you had got given that much money? Well this movie will explain to you what I would do. Enjoy!

Fair Chocolate

Our reading group the Jk Rowlings and another have been focusing on fair chocolate. Also, we have been focusing on fair trade and what it means. We thought that everyone should know what it means and companies should be doing it. It took me about 2 - 3 weeks to finish this. This presentation was very difficult, but I have learnt a lot of words by researching about it and learning it. Enjoy:)!
